They should be from the same stock. eBay also had a 15% off refurbished towards end of last month and the xm5 was in stock. Ordered one from eBay and then another after the price drop. Once they are delivered, will know if there is any difference

Screw these headphones. The ANC constantly adapts to surroundings instead of maintaining a constant level. So annoying that I sold them. Google the issue. It's not a setting that can be disabled. I sold mine and still using XM2 for now and I'm happy.

Edit: adding some info. The "auto NC optimizer" is the issue which is separate from the "adaptive ANC" setting. Sony does not let you disable auto NC optimizer, only adaptive ANC. I truly couldn't believe this and had to resell mine bc it was so annoying.

Also the headband is narrower than my XM2 and would immediately give me a hot spot on top of my head. Could adjust it to help somewhat but was never really comfortable.
